Canadian Outcomes Research Institute provides a number of services to human services organizations throughout Canada.
It provides educational services to organizations, including outcome model training, change management facilitation, logic model development, research design, measurement tool selection and design, data analyses, outcome report writing, and improvement techniques. Canadian Outcomes Research
Institute has developed a database that agencies can use as a tool to facilitate outcome data collection, and to assist in organizations manage and evaluate their services. It offers resources to assist organizations to become outcome oriented. Finally, Canadian Outcomes Research
Institute will assist in conducting research to investigate promising practices in the human services. All of Canadian Outcomes Research
Institute's services are oriented toward helping organizations learn an outcome or results based orientation and to apply information so that services may continually improve over the long-term.
Educational Services...
The Canadian Outcomes Research Institute uses an outcome model that embeds outcome planning (Program Logic Models) with data collection, using an ongoing quality improvement framework. It is supported through an organizational change process. Outcome training is oriented to develop organizational capacity to use program evaluation in a continuous manner for the purposes of service improvement. Canadian Outcomes Research

HOMES Database...
The Canadian Outcomes Research Institute’s HOMES-Muttart Research Project
( HMRP
) uses the Hull Outcomes Monitoring and Evaluation System (HOMES) as a tool to assist agencies to become outcome oriented. This Internet-based software package has an outcome model embedded within it, which is used by human service agencies to monitor client, program, and community information. It is oriented to monitor pre and post intervention data that once aggregated can help determine client, community, and program change or impact in a number of areas. It is applicable to a wide variety of service types including early intervention, social and human services,
counseling, community-based services, in-home family support, group care, and many others. This project is supported by the Muttart Foundation and is targeted to assist not-for-profit organizations.

Institute has developed a collection of publicly available resources to assist not-for-profit human services organizations to become outcome oriented. Some examples include outcome planning tools, change management tools, survey writing tools, and measurement planning tools.

Institute conducts broader outcome research and offers education regarding services’ best practices. To conduct such research Canadian Outcomes Research
Institute has strict security and privacy policies and all applications for outcome analyses must pass an Ethics Committee Review and follow the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans. Canadian Outcomes Research
Institute also offers education about outcome technology and advocates for the advancement of outcome management techniques for human services organizations.
