The Making a Difference Project
After 2 years of planning
and development, and piloting the outcome evaluation model, the FCSS Making a
Difference Project is moving into Phase 2 - Development and Implementation.
Over the next three years, the MAD Outcome Evaluation model will be implemented
across Alberta by FCSS programs that choose to participate.
Since March 2002: the FCSS Association received funding
for the implementation phase from the Ministry of Children’s Services; the
FCSSAA signed a contract with the Canadian Outcomes Research Institute; a
Project Management Team has been established; more than 25 FCSS programs have
begun project implementation; a Self Assessment Tool for FCSS programs has been
developed and used; and a Outcome Tool Kit for FCSS programs has been
developed.
The Canadian Outcomes Research Institute (CORI) has been
contracted to provide the training and database support for the MAD project.
The CORI trainers/contractors have begun training in the MAD program logic
model and the accompanying database to those FCSS programs (and their
contracted agencies) who voluntarily choose to participate in the project.
The Making a Difference Outcome Evaluation Project has
and will continue to incorporate the extensive experience from evaluators and
FCSS programs throughout the next phase of the project. We will be closely
monitoring the implementation of the project so that we stay aligned with FCSS
principals of continuous improvement and community development.
